Custom Earplugs

Protect against hearing loss with maximum hearing protection and a comfortable fit

Sudden or prolonged exposure to noise can cause damage to your hearing and is one of the leading causes of hearing loss. Unfortunately, hearing loss from prolonged noise exposure can be permanent and is often detected too late.

Hearing protection is extremely important for anyone who is regularly in a high-noise environment, including DIYers, farmers, hunters & target shooters, motorcyclists, pilots, musicians, construction workers, mechanics, welders, machinists, etc. Unfortunately, humans do not have a built in gauge to determine when sound is unsafe. Prolonged exposure to sound as low as 85dB(A) can cause damage if you are around them long enough (e.g., lawn mower). Yet we will not perceive pain until we are around sounds around 120-140dB(A).

While over-the-counter foam earplugs can offer excellent protection, if used correctly, they often are not inserted properly and/or cannot be used long-term because of discomfort. Custom earplugs offer a consistent fit, maximum comfort, and most of all - protection.

Types of hearing protection

We offer a wide variety of custom earplugs for various activities and environments. Some custom earplugs have filtered attenuators that allow you to choose how much sound will be blocked out, while others provide a strong seal for maximum protection.

Custom Solid Earplugs

Custom solid earplugs will provide you with the maximum amount of hearing protection available in a custom earplug. These are typically manufactured out of a medical grade silicone and can be made in a variety of colours. These are typically made in a “Full Shell” style - this means that the earplug will fill up both your ear canal and the “bowl” of your outer ear (i.e., the concha).

Custom solid earplugs are also available in a variety of different materials depending on their use.
  • Hearing protection
  • Swimming
  • Sleeping
Custom Filtered Earplugs

Custom filtered earplugs are manufactured with a small filter that will block certain types of sound, while allowing other sounds through. There are a variety of filters available depending on what type of sound(s) you are wanting to reduce.

The most common type of filtered earplugs are designed for musicians. Traditional foam earplugs block out high frequencies more than low frequencies – this is why things sound “muffled” when you wear them. Filtered musician’s earplugs reduce all frequencies equally so that the original soundscape is preserved, but at a safer level. Other types of filters are designed for:
  • Industrial noise
  • Music
  • Motorsports
  • Shooting
  • Flying
  • Comfort
  • Swimming
  • Sleeping
Non-Custom Earplugs

For those looking for high quality comfortable hearing protection at a lower cost, then our line of filtered over-the-counter earplugs are perfect for you. Serenity Choice earplugs by Phonak do not require impressions of your ears. Each set of earplugs comes with three sizes of silicone sleeves, a set of filters, and a titanium carrying case. These earplugs are designed for:
  • Music
  • Motorsports
  • Industrial Noise
